Days of Slowtree 1

March 16, 1915

I’m starting this new journal with my next job. I’m going to be working with Grub and Wren! This should prove to be more exciting than my normal work around Fleagrass. Hauling things. Moving things. Fixing things. It’s decent work. But it’s pretty boring.

Grub was out adventuring a few months ago. He accidentally found a lich and led him to Fleagrass. Wren used magic and flung the lich far into the sky. Her and Grub later tracked down the lich and killed him.

After they got back, me and Grub took Wren to the underground house that Grub had found. We gathered up all of the books and took them back to Fleagrass. Wren did a lot of research during winter. She made some sort of discovery. That brings me to my next job.

Wren said that the house was called the Greentail Wilds Manor. It belonged to some rich lady from a city called Pillarfield. She thinks that this city is buried near the manor. She is going to pay me and Grub to help her find the city, explore it and extract artifacts and books. I’m really excited for this adventure!

Wren bought two wagons loaded up with a bunch of supplies. The plan is for me and Grub to pull the wagons to the site. We will fill them with Wren’s loot and bring them back to Fleagrass.

We left Fleagrass this morning and walked all day. We made camp for the night by parking the wagons side by side. We took turns sleeping under them with one person on watch. Nobody is out in the wilderness, except for us. But it never hurts to be careful.

Wren told us a little bit about the city that we are looking for. It was called Pillarfield. The city was lost and supposedly destroyed in 1241. I asked her how an entire city could be lost. She said that she didn’t know. She took the first watch.

Grub and I talked for a while as we lay under the wagons. He is nervous about this adventure. He doesn’t want to accidentally release another lich. Wren heard him and said that liches have always been exceptionally rare. It was a bit of significantly bad luck, or Fate, that allowed Grub to find one. She doesn’t expect that we will encounter another. I hope she’s right. Wren is really smart, so I trust her.
