Feats of the Week 18
PONDERED
- I feel like the recent golden age of television is over. My wife and I take turns picking shows to watch. She picked the second season of Squid Game for her turn. That was an easy pick. I was stumped with what to pick for my turn after that. I browsed through all of the newish shows on multiple streaming services. I wanted some sort of mysterious drama. There were many to choose from that I have never seen before. But the description of each of these different shows was something like, "The mystery threatens to turn their lives upside down forever." None of the descriptions were eye catching or unique. None of the trailers showed anything other than serious people in collared shirts looking worried. Perhaps these shows are actually magnificent and life changing. But I'm not devoting 6 episodes of my time to find out that I was wrong. I've been burned before by mediocrity. Maybe I need to go to the past for new shows to watch. My brother was enjoying The West Wing before the platform he was using lost their license for it. I went with Twin Peaks. My wife has never seen it. I watched it about 10 years ago, so I didn't see the third season. I'm also watching Fringe on my own. I didn't stay with it when it first aired.
- Who the heck decided that 6 episodes was a good length for an entire season of a show? I'm just getting into it by the time that it ends. I know, I know. It's all about money and maximizing profit or some garbage.
