Fern Quickstream joined a small cult of Wizards living in the village of Stormcraft. She became the Grandmaster after a few years. The cult was formed with the simple intention of learning magic. She quickly rose through the ranks and took over the cult. Fern focused their studies from general magic to the goal of defeating death. She expanded the ranks of the cult so much that they took over the village and spread out to have lodges in most villages throughout Icebrunt. She changed the name of the cult to match that of the village. They became known as the Stormcraft Cult. She did not permanently live in the village. She had a steward rule the village in her stead. Sought to put an end to death. Her motives are unknown. Bound the dragon Soul Slicer with magical chains. Traveled through the Gate of Twilight into the After World. Removed a magical token called the Key Sphere. Brought it to the Living World. This closed the Gate and caused the souls of the recently deceased to return to their bodies. These people became violent demons that attacked anybody nearby. She caused the Demon Plague. Billet and Vilerend retrieved the Key Sphere from her to restore the Natural Order. |
