Keeper of Lore

Finder Cloudburst Chapter 9, Part 1

Iron chains appeared and wrapped
the Lich, Typhoon Mistridge.
Wren and I caught him.
He was bound tight.

A nauseating howl
burst from rotting, dead throat.
He screamed and struggled,
but was bound tight.

Wren ran right up to him,
this terrifying, dead,
monstrous murderer
and stole from him.

I don’t know what she stole
Typhoon wore a dark pouch
dangling from his neck.
Wren claimed this thing.

Wren returned to my side.
Typhoon’s angry howling
was now replaced by
fear filled sobbing.

The chains were loosening.
We began our next spells.
We planned to burn him
to death while bound.

The chains fell from the lich.
He drew a spell that tossed
Wren through a nearby
house, which collapsed.

I suddenly felt quite
vulnerably alone
without a master
wizard with me.

Typhoon looked at the house
that he destroyed with Wren
before seizing my
eyes with his own.

“How could these eyes, so full
of life and malice, live
in a decaying
body?” I thought.

I then pondered my life,
concluding very soon,
ceased by a lich’s
fiery magic.
