Changed her name to Quickstream when she married Hops, changed it back to Cloudgrass after his death. Sunny Cloudgrass is Fern’s mother. Sunny is from Goodbrine. But she felt that she was an unfit mother and left town. She couldn’t handle motherhood and ran away. Tong was also from Goodbrine originally. His friend, Hops Quickstream was Fern’s father, but he died defending Goodbrine during a raid. Tong raised Fern to adulthood. He later left Goodbrine to start his own village. Tong was upset with Sunny about abandoning her daughter. She would not cooperate with him about scholarly things because of their falling out. Goodbrine was sacked and Fern left to conquer death. |
