The Book of Temples Chapter 32
A storm erupted
in the western sky.
The rafting People worried.
Hand and Knife promised
that they would be safe.
The storm would not come to them.
Upon the ocean
the rafts drifted east.
The Child God urged them forward.
The ocean current
directed by her
brought them to a small island.
The rafts went ashore
on the southern beach.
The People were glad to land.
The large, distant storm
by now had died out.
Hand and Knife’s promise fulfilled.
The Child God declared
that here would be built
temple devoted to her.
Hand and Knife described
the plans they would use
to construct the new temple.
Her People explored
their small island home.
Nought with which to build was found.
Hand and Knife pointed
westward whence they came.
The storm had felled many trees.
The river had swelled
with rain, rock and wood
that came to rest on the beach.
Hand and Knife told them
to combine their rafts
into much bigger vessels.
Then they should return
to the mainland beach
and collect the resources.
Bring over the things
to their island home
and firstly build their shelters.
With housing secured,
their next task would be
construction of her temple.
