and grieved for their agony.
She sought to devise
a method by which
People could end the disease.

as Hand and Knife worked
creating a solution.
Many people died
and many stayed hale.
as hearts and families were rent.
Hand and Knife harnessed
the Living World’s source
of life sustaining power.
The Realm of Power
was hidden away
where no person could find it.
It was by design,
for they had no need
to know or touch this power.
The Child God seized this
strong, ignored resource
for her People to employ.
Creating magic
anyone could use
was Hand and Knife’s solution.
One draws simple lines
with magical tools
in Realms of Power and life.
These powerful spells
were then utilized
by People to heal themselves.
Hand and Knife required
that her People swear
the Divulgence Abstention.
This was a strong oath
to withhold knowledge
of the practice of magic.
Her People must not
instruct outsiders
in the art, methods or lore.
