The Book of Temples Chapter 42
Lady of Rain sent
some of her People
to hills surrounding forest.
There they dug deeply
into untouched ground.
She said they would find treasure.
The Child God taught them
how best to be safe
and work hard without peril.
Their tunnels were deep
and expertly shored.
They had much light and fresh air.
The mines all yielded
many great treasures.
Lady of Rain’s promise kept.
There were precious ores
and many less so
for use in simple living.
They also found gems,
the kind adorning
beloved Lady of Rain.
On top of the ground,
where the miners camped,
wild creatures visited them.
The Lady of Rain
caused these animals
to seek domestication.
People took them in
and put them to work.
Others were bred as livestock.
Both sorts of creatures
were sent to their home
within the forest city.
Animals’ reward
for their sacrifice,
they were given love and care.
For the wilderness
offered no respite
other than nature’s freedom.
