A messenger came
to Lady of Rain
on behalf of the Children.
The Wasting Slumber
also affected
all other Children’s People.
The messenger asked
for Lady of Rain
to gather some of her folk.
Then they should travel
from whence they first came
down from the Only Mountain.
At the First Meal’s site
they would all gather
and share a meal once again.
All Children must come
except Hand and Knife,
the villain they must discuss.
Lady of Rain took
some people with her.
They journeyed to the mountain.
She met her siblings,
except Hand and Knife.
The People sat for a meal.
The Children discussed
the origin of
the Wasting Slumber disease.
Only Hand and Knife
could cure her People.
She would not share this magic.
The Second Meal spent
planning to confront
Hand and Knife in her temple.
All of the Children
would gather their folk
into a single army.
It was decided
that they would force her
to rid the land of disease.
They left the mountain,
Children of the Gods
with their People following.
They traveled eastward.
Greedy Noble led.
The way was already known.
They passed working folk,
those of Hand and Knife
and had no grievance with them.
They entered the town
sitting on the coast
opposite of the temple.
The Children’s folk seized
the boats that were moored
and crossed the water towards land.
