The Book of Temples Chapter 50
They easily found
Hand and Knife’s temple.
The Child was waiting outside.
The other five spoke
against the sixth Child
demanding that she give aid.
Her secrets were hers,
no magic be shared.
They only wanted a cure.
Hand and Knife declared
she cared not for woes
brought by others to her home.
She thought to offer
hospitality
but now her mind had been changed.
She said, “Leave this place!
Go back to your homes!
Deal with your diseases there.”
The Children shouted,
“This disease is yours
You brought it into this world!”
Hand and Knife replied,
“I just do not care,”
and walked into her temple.
Lord of Feasts shouted,
“We must follow her!
We must seize her magic lore!”
Lady of Rain spoke,
“We must not fight them.
Warfare can achieve nothing.”
The other Children
were with Lord of Feasts
and hastily made siege plans.
Lady of Rain left
with all of her folk.
They had no desire for war.
Lady of Rain brought
her People to home
in their well hidden city.
They further strengthened
fortifications
against Lady of Rain’s fears.
She worried that war
amongst all Children
would spread across the island.
She had no designs
to conquer and loot.
She merely wanted safety.
Lady of Rain’s folk
would still be ready
when the next conflict arrived.
