The Book of Temples Chapter 55
Lady of Rain came
to the Justice Hall
bearing unhappy tidings.
She told Wise Vengeance
that some of his folk
had stolen food from her farms.
She gave him demands,
these people must be
apprehended and sentenced.
He told his sister
the guilty would find
themselves pressed by his justice.
Wise Vengeance summoned
his People to meet
together in Justice Hall.
The People knew not
why they assembled.
Why came Lady of Rain here?
Wise Vengeance thanked them
for their attendance
and gestured to his sister.
Lady of Rain then
looked over the crowd
and selected three people.
Wise Vengeance told them
to come forth and stand
in front of all for judgement.
The Child God declared
that they were guilty
of stealing from nearby farms.
They claimed innocence
saying they never
entered Lady of Rain’s lands.
Wise Vengeance then asked,
“How dare you to name
a Child of the Gods liar?”
“Never would we dare,
we nonetheless must
demand that she provide proof.”
The Child God replied,
“Her word is the proof.
I require no more than that.”
These three people were
then sentenced to serve
one full year in the prison.
