The Book of Temples Chapter 6
Finally acquiesced
Lord of Feasts agreed
to forgo animal deaths.
He no longer required
sacrifices made
precious animals were safe.
The People rejoiced
inside the tower
those outside did not know.
The sacrificial
rites done every month
were hidden from outsiders.
The Child God’s demands
then shifted anon
to prizes more closely held.
The first of each month,
the youngest person
would be given unto him.
Their lives would be ceased
slain cruelly with knife
upon animal altar.
The Lord of Feasts must
be paid his blood drink
a thirst that is never quenched.
