The Moonskull Verses Canto 25
“How?!” exclaimed Torn.
Shrub replied, “I used my Strength
to catch sudden movement with
dust from the ground.
The dust held and coated a great blade.
I killed a tree to do this. I am sorry.”
They looked around and beheld
a tree crumbling to ash as Shrub spoke,
“There must have someone
holding the blade. I stole its energy.
It has perished.”
Beetle quickly scooped
dust and scattered it around
revealing a body more than
four times taller than a human.
As they marveled at the corpse
it collapsed into a pile of
quite visible gray ash.
Torn mumbled,
“I do not like your method
but you are the hero of Springburr.”
