The Unfated Wanderers Canto 38
The Learned Scholars of Icebrunt discussed the tablets with the Unfated Wanderers. Unlike other ancient, prophetic texts, these were very easy to understand. They decided that the Children of the Gods recognized just how dire the situation was and they acted to instruct the Wanderers on a way forward. The Children did not want the world to completely fall under the influence of the Lord of Terror.
Four spheres pinned the Realm of Terrors onto the Living World. These pins must be located and a brief natural magic operation must be completed in order to set things aright. Then, a final natural magic operation must be completed at the Learned Giant in Twigstar.
Two of the temples were known: Fleagrass and Brownstump villages. The library within the mountain could only refer to Keeper of Lore’s home. None other was known. She had no knowledge of a hidden temple within her home. She admitted that since these tablets were never inside the mountain, the temple had never revealed itself. There was an island known to reside north of Icebrunt, beyond the mouth of the Fierce River. These places should be easily reached by dragon wing. Keeper volunteered to fly the Unfated Wanderers from vertex to vertex to end the horror without delay.
The task of unpinning the vertices seemed to be the very stuff from which legends are born. And it is. But the telling of it is quite bland. Keeper of Lore flew the Unfated Wanderers to the northern island, Fleagrass village and finally to her own home. Temples were entered. The Word was spoken. Spheres were smashed. Finally, they flew to Brownstump village and finally, they met a challenge.
