The Spinner’s Writ: The World, Their Plaything

In the Span of Children,
the gods wandered the world.
Toying with mountains.
Flattening forests.
Splashing the seas.
Leaping lakes.
Hunting and growing.
Slaying and nurturing.
From the world they seized
ready-wrought raiment,
weapons and tools.
Rivers were spilt
and ponderously wild woods
leapt from the soil.
Hills were rent and cast down
and rippled from the earth again.
The world was their plaything
and it quenched their thirst
for delicious diversions.
But no thirst can be slaked for good.
The Children desired more…
